"BE ALERTED!!! There's a new boss out there...My Ultimate Attenuator is the best one I've ever used. For the first time, I feel like I am hearing my "plexi" Marshall as it truly sounds at any volume. ALL of the tone, clarity & punch is there. No weird fuzziness and flatness as you drop to lower volumes. If you're trying to use an old 100 watt Marshall or Hiwatt at a sane stage level, it's an absolute must."

New Product Preview! "The Ultimate Attenuator" by David Szabados The maker of "The Ultimate Attenuator," Mark Gregg, came to me with a strong claim that his unit would be the most transparent attenuator that I've ever tried. Quite a bold statement to make, especially since he knew that I was very familiar with the various attenuator options out there! ...how did the prototype of "The Ultimate Attenuator sound"? Quite well, I'm happy to report - In fact, I was very impressed. The hardest test sonically for an attenuator is to listen to it at lower "bedroom" levels. My previous favorite in this environment was the THD Hot Plate - at the Hot Plate's -16 dB setting, the bass notes can get a little bit fizzy or lose a bit of clarity - remember the Hot Plate (or any device for that matter!) is absorbing a tremendous amount of energy from the amplifier and so -16 dB is not a setting I would typically use - I've always felt that it's better to use a bedroom amp for a bedroom application after all. But in the case of "The Ultimate Attenuator", the tone and clarity of the guitar was very apparent at even the lowest of settings. Low notes rang without any "fizz" and as I turned up the volume control louder on the test unit, it continued to work consistently with excellent transparency. Was this indeed the most transparent tone I've yet heard? Yes, I would agree with that.

Hey man, I got it yesterday and hooked it up to my Bogner. Man that thing is uber transparent. A+! Worth the money. Really glad I got this over everything else I looked at. It has even taken some the noise in my high gain amps down drasticly. Thanks for making great gear.

Thanks,

CJ

Hey Mark,

The UA arrived today. Stellar tone from this thing! I wouldn’t have thought it possible. I’ve tried other attenuators before and just plain gave up on ‘em,but the UA just plain rocks. The sad part is I just got done selling my big dog amps because I couldn’t use them as intended anymore. All I have left is a little 10 watter practice amp, but even that sounds miles better cranked through the UA rather than just relying on the amp’s master volume. Now that I’ve heard how well the UA works, I gotta buy some of those big amps back! This thing is the coolest. Can’t wait to get the Ultimate Tube Amp too.

Mark, the U.A. works great! "Who's Next" tone at Fender Champ volume levels. I'm really impressed.

John.

Just wanna feed back at ya and say that the Ultimate exceeded all my expectations! Have been playing around with it this weekend and I'm having a blast! Thanks for making a great product, this will stay with me as long as I stay connected. Best wishes from Norway!

Mark, Hope you had a nice holiday. I just LOVE the amp. Thanks for talking me out of that clone I was ready to buy. Your amp is freaking awesome. I can't say enough. Your clips that you sent of the clean strat tone sold me and hearing the tone this bad boy brings in person is just killer. Works great also with the cabinet you advised me on with the mixed V30 and Leads.

HI Mark.

The amp set up I have is a Marshall 2061x (18 or 20 watts, I keep forgetting) running through a little Avatar 1x12 cube cabinet with an Eminence "Wizard" in it. Well, I can't tell you how blown away I was when the amp had finally warmed up and I played my first chord. I did some messing with the tone and volume controls on both my Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Special reissue and the amp, and within about 20 minutes had dialed in Leslie West on my bridge P-90, at a volume low enough where I could hear myself singing without a mic! I noticed no difference in tone whether I had the output level on the UA Project dialed back to 8 o'clock or fully throttled.

Best regard,

John Harris

Hey Mark,

I'm loving the Ultimate Attenuator! Thanks very much!
