Hi, I'm Mark Gregg the manufacturer of the Ultimate Attenuator. This whole adventure started out because I couldn't find an attenuator that would keep my tone, set the volume where I wanted it to be (not some bizarre step process that never got it where I wanted my volume to be and would always screw up my tone to boot), and would let me have just one attenuator for all of my rigs.
That seemed like a common sense, logical thing to have right? Wrong! It didn't exist yet so I got to work and tried every product that was available on the market but they just didn't cut it. I found the step volume attenuators were brutal to my tone (I've got over 30 years gigging experience so I really do know what I want) so they were out.
Depending on where I was playing I needed to really micromanage my volume to get it just right and the other products always had me fidgeting with them trying to get it where I wanted to be and I thought, this should be simple. You should have just one dial that allowed a smooth transition to any level without impacting tone thus the Ultimate Attenuator was born.
Sometimes when I would rehearse late at night or whenever the urge hit me I needed something that would keep my tone intact from barely audible to mildly loud hence the addition of the bedroom switch. Hey when I practice I still want my live stage tone that I'm familiar with to keep me concentrating on playing not perpetually trying to "dial it in".
So after years of prototypes and rethinking the whole process from an engineering and musicians standpoint the Ultimate Attenuator was born. This is the best sounding, most transparent, and rock solid stable attenuator on this great world of ours. Guaranteed.
